Woman with long hair and glasses holding a book

Hello! My name is Sarah, and I am a book lover.

I have a master’s degree in library science and a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. I worked in public libraries for eight years, and taught first grade and pre-k for a combined total of four years. I have always loved working with kids, which is why I originally decided to go into teaching. However, when I took a children’s literature class in college, I realized my passion for literature and the power stories have in transforming lives. After I felt like my teaching career had run its course, I moved over to working in libraries. I was still able to work with children and do all my favorite parts of teaching when presenting storytimes, but I was also able to help other age groups find books or resources they needed. I loved the variety in working in the library!

I am not currently working in book world, and I miss it so much. This blog was born out of a desire to stay connected to this chapter of my life. My hope is to connect people of all ages with books and activities that will nurture their love of reading and bring transformation to their lives. I truly believe everyone can love books - it’s all about finding the ones that speak to you. Let’s find what books make you the literary type!

My favorite fiction genres:

  • rom-com

  • psychological thriller & mystery

  • magical realism

  • coming-of-age YA (young adult)

  • YA/middle grade tough topics

  • YA/middle grade horror (adult horror is too scary for me!)

My favorite nonfiction genres & topics:

  • memoir

  • cooking & baking

  • homesteading

  • natural living

  • organization

  • minimalism

  • true crime

I’m always looking for book recommendations, so if you have any for me, please let me know!

Thanks for stopping by, and don’t be a stranger! :)
