November 2024 Follower Update

Sharing some updates you may not know about the blog and my personal life!

People talking in book stacks

Hello everyone!

I am not posting book content this week. I am going to be sharing some updates and things I am working on related to the blog. I hope that’s okay with you, and I will be back to regular book content in my next post!

Life Update

Life has been a little off-kilter the past couple of weeks (actually, months), and I honestly haven’t felt like I’ve had the mental energy to write. I came down with my first cold of the season, and it lasted a little longer than usual. I decided to try and rest as much as I could instead of write. I also started a new job a few months ago, and while I like it, I feel like I get drained much faster than I used to. These things, coupled with busy weekends, some trips, and just keeping up with normal life things, have derailed my work on this blog. I have been tired, but I think things are starting to get back to normal. I’m working on get back on track!

I’m trying to remain consistent in publishing one blog post every week, with Monday being my goal day for posting. But I also need to allow myself some space, and know that this blog is not going to collapse if I don’t have a post ready every single Monday. I am doing my best, and my best will not be perfect, and that’s okay. As Pete the cat says, “it’s all good!”

Blog Update

As you know, I am a blogging newbie. I am also new to this platform, and have had some unexpected technical difficulties. Shout out to my husband, who is taking over some of the behind-the-scenes bits of this blog that will make it better. You are a legend!

So, comments weren’t working, but they should be now. Thanks to a friend of mine who pointed this out!

Thanks to all of you who have subscribed to my email list! Unfortunately, email is one of those things that’s not going as planned. I am working on it, and plan to have regular email updates in the future. Sit tight!

I made an Instagram. There is currently one post on it, but I plan to post more. I have been off social media for about four years, and I haven’t wanted to go back to it. However, I do feel that utilizing Instagram may be good for this blog, so I’m going to make an effort to use it. Please give me suggestions for what you’d like to see!

I have a few posts planned for December that I’m excited about! But, if you have any ideas for posts, please let me know. I want to make sure my content is meeting the needs of my readers.

What I’m Currently Reading

I realized I haven’t let you know what I’m reading in any of my posts, so maybe I’ll start including that!

Right now, I am reading The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. I have never read this book, and I figured it was about time I did! I am slowly making my way through it since I haven’t had a ton of mental energy lately. I’ve seen the show on Hulu already, so I am familiar with what happens, but it’ll be interesting to compare the two! The show has kept very close to the details in the book thus far.

**As important as I think it is to support libraries and independent bookstores, I understand this is not a possibility for everyone. So, I’ve included links to purchase the books mentioned in this post through Barnes & Noble and Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases, which is the best way you can support this blog. Ultimately, please choose the method that works best for you!

I hope this post gave you a little insight about things going on, and I appreciate the support you’ve all given me as I am starting this blog! Talking books is fun for me, and I’m looking forward to sharing more content with you. Be well!
